What is EGO?
How has the Ego Mind staked such a huge claim in our lives, and society? Is it fair to say that through time and generation after generation we have inadvertently programmed and given permission to our Ego to take over in any adverse moment?
As an example; how many times have you heard “it must run in my family”, in the aftermath of a destructive emotional moment? When our programming is activated, the EGO sees this as an opportunity for an interception from a calm state and runs it into crisis state! Programming is real, it can and does run in the family, as generation after generation of this program knows no boundaries, knows no change, and only knows to run the program already in progress without us even knowing the program exists. It is limitless because when change steps in, our comfort zone of ‘knowing’ is challenged. With challenges, surely comes fear, and fear is a very dear friend to control. In fact fear and control are typically inseparable by way of the program.
Have you ever asked yourself, what launches our defenses when faced with a situation that is in direct conflict with our beliefs, our structure of thinking, challenging of authority, or the act of someone opposing our own image of who we are as in an individual? Who comes to our defense at these moments of insecurity, threat, or diversity?—Ego/Mind or Heart?
What is this EGO I keep hearing about?
Ego in simple terms is our dual self, our shadow self, our sharp mind, sharp tongue, sharp thoughts, judgments, anxiety, fear, control, and even oppression of ones self. EGO is the self indulgent pity party!
Have you ever given consideration to an occasion(s) when you had a negative reaction only seconds after something or someone came at you quickly that triggered a negative reaction in response? What is the catalyst behind our reaction? What prompts our booming voice to be heard at any cost, or for us to act out in a disapproving fashion that we ‘always’ seem to regret later. What shifts us into defense mode at a moments notice?—Ego/Mind or Heart?
What does Ego or Heart have to do with anything during opposition—everything in my opinion.
When negative feelings happen at any given moment, (and in most cases, they can spring out of the ground at a moments notice) we (meaning those still running the program of living by EGO) rarely have a moment to adjust to our immediate feelings and in turn go right into defense mode. With those who have studied EGO, these moments become few and far between. If our Hearts were activated as quickly as our Ego Mind is, would the reaction time be as prevalent?
So, how do we recognize the Heart in this story? Where does Heart play a role?
Some have discovered the importance of Heart in moments of strong disagreement, or strong opposing feelings from another and practice the levity of these moments so that Ego is not triggered and love of opposition is effortless. In other words, by learning how our EGO/Mind works and operates, it is much more effective to apply compassion when opposing feelings from another transpire. Heart reacts not EGO. When dealing from Heart love is contained and compassion is contained. Judgment is never an option nor a defense. If the illusion of driving a point across at any cost from either side is viewed, understood and approached from Heart and not mind (EGO) conflict is less and in some cases non responsive.
What takes place after distortion in a moment of opposition?
In the aftermath of conflict from Ego/Mind distortion occasion, have you ever experienced the feeling of regret, sadness, deep loss, shame, pride or even depression?
In the aftermath of an Ego Mind eruption, and Ego has subsided; meaning, one who has exceeded the Ego and allowed Ego to voice to the extreme, feelings of calmness tend to become overwhelming to a degree of emotional crisis in some cases, and then pride or sorrow takes over.
Examples of afterthoughts from a moment of opposition; “what was that”, “where did that come from”?, “Why did I loose my temper?” Soon after these feelings a new batch of feelings can easily overwhelm you and you may find yourself either struggling with pride (ignoring any responsibility) and or “how do I apologize?”.
When these sensations are obvious, we begin to create scenarios of “How do I fix this”, “Was this my fault” or the real killer, “that person is crazy, I did nothing wrong”! Who is in your head debating at this time? We are of course. Duality isn’t just for those we classify as ‘schizophrenic’. We in fact have conversations with our Ego self everyday. However, how often does heart (which is considered the ‘little voice’) heard, discovered and applied?
When moments of adversity enter into your field of energy, and has a momentous direct effect on your decision making, ask yourself and the opposing party, is this coming from Heart?
The spoken word is a powerful one. We are powerful! Our minds are powerful! Our hearts are powerful, and our heart is really were the action is.
We have mastered the EGO Mind over time, and time again. Ego knows how to win the game, when seconds count! We have allowed the programming to kick into automatic pilot at any given moment, but when was the last time you let Heart in the game? Re-program the program.
Empower the Heart, and let the Ego ride the bench! With this awareness, you will soon discover the amazement and acceleration of clarity as well as living your life as a contributor of the human race, and having a human experience on earth, rather than a programmed ‘being’ struggling with humanity.
When you are ready to create, create from the Heart. The Ego has been in control long enough!
