“He who jumps into the void, owes no explanation to those that stand and watch.” — Jean Luc Godard

The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one.— Bill Hicks

Renee Christine MartineBackstory: as a territory Account Manager, finding peace out of my busy day(s) was becoming more and more challenging during work, as well as my everyday life. While meditation, massage, facials, going out with friends, and taking walks or a scenic drive can be very fun and relaxing, I felt like I just wasn’t filling the void. So, I decided to try out a local “Sip-n-Paint,” on my own, to try my hand at something creative, in a group setting.  What I found was that I love art—I had no idea. These precious two hours in front of the canvas kept my focus and everything else just melted away—it gave me the headspace I was craving. Once I started, I didn’t stop, and am left feeling very inspired daily. Sip-n-Paint goes for about $35 a shot, and I started going sometimes four times a week; alone and sometimes dragging my friends along for the ride.

One Sunday I thought, why couldn’t I make my own art, sip and paint in my garage. So, I turned on YouTube, and watched a few acrylic pour channels and thought, “I can do this!” I headed down to the local Michael’s for supplies, and just started doing my own painting in my garage, at my leisure—I got hooked very quickly, and started creating anywhere from four to six paintings a week. I’ve sold almost all paintings that I’ve created in the very short time I’ve started, with orders coming in to customize paintings as well. It’s a beautiful day when life finds a way to fall right into place.

This creative side of mine is allowing me to not only relax, have fun, but also produced something tangible for myself, and that of other interested parties—Acrylic Fluid Art . .  my new muse. I have found this new outlet makes each day exciting again, even with my very demanding job. I hope you enjoy my paintings, as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
